Who we are...
We are an expression of Gods abundant grace and favour in the locality of Kaikohe up in the beautiful Bay of Islands NZ. Living in present truth concerning the Kingdom of God, as revealed by the Holy Spirit, we believe in complete redemption from sin and death through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and obedience to the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Christ). Having been born again we now live in the ever present Kingdom of God by the power of His indwelling Spirit. As a growing family of believers, gathered and knit together by the Spirit of God, we have a unique and distinctive flavour. As with the early Church in Acts 2.40-47 we have great testimonies of the awesome power of God, lives being transformed and a growing oneness in all that we are and do. We are of those who gladly receive the word, get baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit. Because the Holy Spirit is manifest in our midst we love to fellowship and have all things in common. Church to us is we believe 24/7 and incorporates every facet of our lives. We are not playing games. So, while we are yet a work in progress, we are also a "present" work, called to dispense the fragrance of Christ in all things (2 Cor. 2.14-16). We have been saved, are being saved and are yet to be saved! We seek to live as books read of all men. Submitting to one another in Love and building one another up in our faith. But speaking the truth in love, (so that we) may grow up in all things into Him who is the head -Christ- from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love (Eph.4.15-16). God is not building a corporation; He never has and never will. Church is not a Sunday meeting. Neither is it the tithe, yuppie clothes, a house church, the barbecue, or the great speaker from the bigger church, a nice building and a well paid pastor aren’t the church either. Church from God’s perspective (the only correct perspective) is viewed in terms of relationship. He is not the managing executive, he did not send a director, nor someone from human resources, nor has He sent someone who is “on staff” (If you are seen to be a resource, then as a resource don’t be surprised if you feel used. When you get old, which often by today’s standards is only about 39 ish you may be put up out of the way on a shelf somewhere). Nor are we part of a team. God, to those who are born again, is a Father! (Rom.8.14-17) For God sent His Son! And He is the forerunner of many Sons! His intention for us is nothing short of the full blessing and inheritance of His pattern Son Jesus Christ (1 John 3.1-3). The true Church of Jesus Christ are the called out ones (the Ekklesia). Those who having been born of the Spirit, are now continually walking in that same Spirit (Rom.8.1-4). Our unique and special expression during times together is certainly Pentecostal, but we would not frame ourselves as being only a Pentecostal expression. Our focus is where the Lords’ is, the full manifestation of the Kingdom of God in all of creation. We move as the Holy Spirit leads while yet submitting to the body in love that all things may be done decently and in order (1 Cor.14.40). So, while we have liberty we also have order. We have those who by calling and maturity have oversight in the life of our local church, with the emphasis always being on the building of a deeper relationship with Christ and with those He has joined us to relationally. We have relational links with others of the Ekklesia who, like us, are resisting the pressures to conform to the patterns and mindset of this world (age). We are by grace pressing on toward the mark of the high calling in Jesus Christ. We have (amongst others) dear brothers in Australia, India and the USA that we are in fellowship with.If you are in our locality visiting or looking to move here and you Love Jesus Christ with a passion, then check us out!
If you are searching for life’s answers, need help in any way or just want to fellowship then we are but a phone call or email away.
Cheers.
